Hi guys

Been about 4 years since I built my last system. Ive updated I have updated a few things like hard drive and gfx card.

So I really need is a CPU Motherboard and Ram. I have about £250-£300 so any recommendations would be welcome.

I think I prefer Intel, but dont mind AMD, I will be upgrading from a i7 920

Looks very nice but thats a little over my budget, Oh and I have an ATX case, but i was thinking of down sizing

Im not convinced there is an Intel solution worth changing too for your budget, at the least you would want a i7 such as a 4770K on a Z87 chipset board.

Have you considered overclocking your current CPU?

If you can use your existing RAM? then a CPU and board is all you need,

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £269.99
1 x Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £113.99
Total : £393.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Or if you dont want to overclo0ck,

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i7-4771 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £239.99
1 x Gigabyte H87-HD3 Intel H87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £80.99
Total : £330.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Just use two sticks for dual channel:)

But it does mean dropping to 4GB, you can use all three but you either stay at dual channel or it doesn't work (never tried it myself)

Not really bothered about SLi if I am honest. I mainly playing wow and starcraft. I am having a few issues with the system locking up. Ive tested the ram and that seems to be ok. Its not overheating and I am not running with any overclocks. So I thought about just replacing the motherboard and CPU.
