I was looking at my case earlier and it has a cut out at the top, where my fans sit with a cover over them. It looks like that this cover is stopping air from leaving the case, what do you guys think?
Would i benefit from drilling some holes in the top of the plate?

Oh and excuse the bad photography, I have a Dslr and don't really know how to use it :o

it looks to be blocking the air entirely to me. Seems to be a cover to reduce noise if you dont want to place fans in them locations and should be removed if you do.

Run it removed and compare temperatures I would say.

Yeah it does, blocks everything.. It doesn't make it any nosier with it off just doesn't look as nice, especially as i have horrible stock fans there!

I was thinking drilling a few holes and putting some dust filter stuff behind to stop **** getting in :)

Shouldn't need filters, that is exhaust so dust will be blown away and I doubt to much will fall into the PC when it is switched off unless your house is really dusty.

I'd personally look at something less permanent than drilling holes in the plate, I'd look to make something up to fit in, perhaps wire mesh or something similar.

but you have been running with no airflow since you had it installed so if temps are not a problem you could do away with those fans completely and leave it on.
