Little Help? (Laptop Noobie)

Hi guys,

My mum would like a laptop for her birthday, essentially she is going to be using it for all the mumsy type things:
Browsing internet
MS Office
I Tunes

I have never owned nor do i intent to own a laptop, could someone point me in the direction of a reasonably robust £500 laptop that would suit her needs?
