Little help needed

Just two problems, not sure if this section's the place to put them though.

  1. If I unplug something connected to USB, my internet goes off (wireless broadband, USB adapter) is this something to worry about? How do I fix it? It's quite annoying.
  2. If I restart my computer, my sound card isn't recognised (X-FI Xtreme Gamer), if I restart again it's recognised. Annoying when I've installed windows updates and other programs. Is there a fix for this?

it might help if we knew what makes up the rest of your pc and your operating system so we can give more educated advise rather then just tell you to try everything we could think of
