little help please

Hi i actually upgraded my pc at last so i built it up i got a

mobo
Asus AM3 M4A87TD/USB Socket AM3

cpu
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Quad Core Processor

memory
Corsair 4GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Memory x2

now im no expert but surely this set up would run a lot faster than my last 1 also what i noticed for a board that cost so much i got no autoclock feature like i got with my old board so im looking for pointers as i have been told that software is not the way to oc, the only safe way to oc is threw the bios so i went in there WOW i got lost so i have turned ere for some advice to where to start as i havent a clue but 1 will only get wiser with knowledge i hope to learn

Have you tried looking in the Overclocking section of the forum? There are plenty of pointers in the stickied threads at the top.
