sorry iv been going on about this for a while....
i just got a indicator relay (for motorcycle )with 3 connection that looks like this

|_|

The 2 on the sides are lebeled X and L.

and i need to know which connection is which ( positive, negative and earth)
my bike only has 2 connections.therefore i am really confused.

Thanks , shimy

I think X is "in" (that is feed from the battery), L is "out" (that is feed to the indicator switch) and the other connector (P?) goes to the indicator warning lamp.

If you have a look at page 48 on this pdf there is a really poor quality diagram there that may explain it.

What bike is it and have you got a wiring diagram?

This site has what looks like 2 pin bike relays about half way down the page.

thanks . will try tomorrow morning.

i have a honda nsr 125. i think its got a pretty unique indicator wiring system.
iv been told that there are no hondas with 3 pin connectioned relays.

A three pin relay doesn't make much sense as you need two pins for the coil and another two for the basic function of making/breaking a circuit.

I'm guessing he's talking about a flasher unit, rather than an actual relay.
