so over Christmas i went out and get a 7950 when it was on the offer nice little saving
but stupidly i forgot that my pc is soooooo old that its still pci-e 1.0 QQ and i was thinking it is about time to retire my pc and get a new one
what i have at the moment is
q6600
8 gb of corsair ram
one of the intel ssd that were on offer on store opening
1.5tb for the space as my : D/ : C drive if you get what i mean
and the his 7950
and a corsair 720 watt psu

so i was thinking of going with this
YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i7-3770 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £239.99
1 x ASRock Z77 Pro4 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £97.99
1 x Arctic Cooling Freezer Xtreme Rev.2 High Performance Quiet CPU Cooler(Socket 775 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / FM1 / FM2) £29.99
Total : £379.37 (includes shipping : £9.50).

i would love to hear your advice i dont know a lot about the coolers
but i do need 8 sata because i will be turning my server(standard pc) off and be using my pc
any advice will be thanked :D

forgot to say i already have 16gb of ram lined up for uses

what will you be using it for?
i7 is great, got one myself but many here say the i5 is as quick for most stuff

but your kit looks great and i also have 16gb installed.

the reason for my questions are, if you don't need the extra that a i7 gives then a i5 overclocked either your own or buy a bundle like i did could be just as quick if not quicker in same apps.

i went for the i7 bundle and have never looked back since xmas, but for most here say an i5 would just be as quick.

so you want to do it yourself? interested in overclocking etc?

photoshop is all you need to say, then the i7 is the one of choice, you have done your home work and is a good setup.

enjoy your build and sorry for the questions :)

get photoshop to make the scratch disk on the sdd as you will see the difference
