Little help

Hi 8pack, I get my new system parts tomorrow and will be wanting to overclock my 5960X. Its gonna be on a Gigabyte Gaming 7 Wifi mobo and 32gb Avexir ddr4 ram. Will be cooled with a h100i and sp140s.
If you get any time away from breaking world records can you give me a little advice. Thanks a lot

Wow thanks for the quick reply mate. Its these sticks https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-098-AR . Is it difficult to overclock the cpu too because of the board? Also I will still be able to use the memory on the rated 2666mhz wont i? I will change the board if not. This is the board JUNK COMPETITOR!!! NO NEED!!!, Going by one of the pictures showing the IO plate side you can see the OC button.

I bought from Ocuk £1200 and elsewhere £1800. Ocuk are a great site, but most of the time not the cheapest. I appreciate the help, but obviously I will buy from where ever is cheaper. I actually never classed that place as a direct competitor, sorry.Parts will be here all by monday so will test that all out, thanks a lot.

Just looking through the bios for my motherboard. I gather I shouldnt download the lastest one which is beta? should I go for the one just before that do you think.

Just built my system and I was gonna have a go with setting the memory first, now I found where you set the XMP profile but can't seem to find where I set the strap to 1.25. Is it called something else?

So I have XMP set, is it safe to use CPU Upgrade to do an overclock? having trouble find cache and SA. Only want an overclock of about 4.2 - 4.4.

Have been using the Gigabyte easytune software to run my tests so I could change settings whilst in windows. So far Aida stable at 4.3ghz with 1.25v and 0.25 SA. Set on XMP. The only thing I haven't changed is the Cache as can't see an option on the software to do so. 4.3 is enough for me I think.

Managed to reach 4.5ghz with your settings 8pack at just 1.25v and temps are good still. Can't believe how much these chips overclock. Gonna run 4.6 tonight and leave it on.

So just an update with things and my overclock. I am so far stable at 4.6ghz with these settings. I ran aida64 for 24hours and it came up with no errors, temps hit max 76 over that time. There is 1 thing though that's odd, 8pack told me to set uncore but the system won't boot if I touch that at all ? I have to leave it on auto. Is that a problem? I did read online some people having a problem with the gigabyte boards when messing with that setting, but I am on the latest bios which didn't seem to help.

100 X 46
CPU Vcore 1.28v
SA 0.5v
CPU Vrin 1.9v
CPU ring 1.10v

I am not sure if I should try for 4.7ghz tonight, but would defo like to know why I can't touch uncore. Core voltage seems good though and at 4.5ghz only needed 1.25v
