A mates pc keeps resetting 5 minutes of game play after he installed a rx 480 his set is

Windows 7 64 bit sp1
Amd fx-8350 8 core
16gb ram ddr3 1333mhz 4 x 4gb
Asus m5a78L-m/usb3
Atx 12v 750wat psu

Does any one know what the problem is he has updated all drivers. He is now looking for a new card which card would be right for his set up thanks

Get a new PSU - CIT PSUs are rubbish and I have seen rigs being taken out when they stop working.

Agree with new PSU. Bet it only comes with a single 6-pin PCI-E connector? Could be the model with only 20 amps on either 12v rail. If so there's a good chance one of the rails is being overwhelmed and it's causing the restart.

Even if it doesn't fix it, new PSU is the first step. Those CITs are known to take out other hardware with them when they pop.

The PSU is the most important component in a computer system.

Agree with the above, change that PSU asap.
Though it may not entirely be the PSU, it certainly would be a good place to start.

Motherboard will not support fx8 without severe throttling to 1400mhz.

Is this mate close by. You could try the card in your rig to see if it's ok. As above that Psu is not something i would want in my Rig.
