Not sure if anyone has expeienced this one before

At the moment whilst cold booting the PC it occasionly wont start correctly
All that happens is that the fans seem to spin faster (louder) the hardrive sounds is still ticking over but nothing happens on the screen. Although the pattern of the clicks doesnt appear to be the same as it would on an actual boot

Solution is to turn off completly and retry sometimes it can do this 2 or 3 times sometimes it wont do it at all

I at first thought it maybe something to do with the overclock but tried turning that off and still problem persists.

Thought maybe loose connection somewhere but tried unpulgging most things and reconnecting again a dead end
MAybe a part is on its way out?!
Seems to pass all stress tests and as i say problem remains without overclocked ?! :(
Becoming a little annoying and im a little concerned one of these days it wont sort itself out on boot after x amount of attempts!

Running an i7 920 chip at 4ghz
6gb of ddr3 memory
asus p6t duluxe version 2
2 x ATi 4850
Fan control akasa
Antec 1200
Windows 7 Ultimate

Temps are idling about 28c max about 55c

Not got another PSU to try, so hoping to try other things first.
Running memtest at the moment and the HDtune was fine

One other thing i noticed when its not starting up correctly there red lights on the graphics card mainboards (these normally just flicker on a correct boot) but stay on when its not doing it correctly, not sure if this has any relevance?

Going to try using them 1 at a time if the memory tests ok!

Well it passed memtest.
Tried removing the graphics cards and tried them non crossfire, again nothing
Tried putting it all back as it was and now i cant even get a boot :(
Going to work now, will continue the fun and games later!

Hate these kinda problems where the issue could be nearly anything from a cable to the motherboard itself!

You say most things, which ones did/didn't you try?

Have you tried a BIOS update?

There was no bios updates available so reflashed the same one
The problem seems to have stopped (touch wood)
Cant see why as i reset default settings on effectively the same settings!?
Thanks guys
