... about the iPod Universal Dock.

They sell me a device for £35 without telling me that the controller doesn't control the menu of the iPod. This means you can only fast forward / re-wind / play / pause and volume with the remote and to change the artist you have to go and use the click wheel?

No forgive me if I am wrong, but how stupid is that? A remote that doesn't do very many remote like things? Especially when I pay £35 for the privilidge. Sure it holds my ipod and makes it look pretty, but its quite difficult and clunky to use the click wheel while its in it's dock. Major design oversight, imho!

i agree - i used my docked ipod at a party linked up to speakers - but i made a 'party playlist' in itunes which got me around the problem of keep using the click wheel all the time.
I like the dock and the remote but the limited functions do need to be looked at. :(

Cheap as chips, works like a charm as a dock for sync-ing, holding my iPod Nano (well, when I had them back then) and the controls are easily access-able. Trouble is, no remote but for around £5, you can't complain :)
