Little tiny blobs stuck to car.

Whatever it was it has now gone -went out at 8.00 and washed it with clay mit and maguires shampoo -got 90% off and I did use 5 watering cans of butt water to swill it off - I could leave off drying it for a while did a bit more - This has convinced me to get one of those water filters from Raceglaze - I normally have to wash a bit then spray whole care -wash some more and spray again just to stop water drying out as it's a black car.

So a nice clean car again. doesn't look to bad for a 13 yr old Focus.

AAAAAAAAAAAHH.

I put too much pressure on Clay Mit and now got swirls on bonnet -first time ever on this car.

What is best to get them off by hand.
Dick head me.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Way i do it :

Pressure wash as much of them off as possible, then use very warm water and a microfiber cloth to try and clean what is left.

My home is surrounded by trees and it is an absolute PITA and can easily scratch you car trying to get it off.

Found a bottle of Poorboys Black Hole in wardrobe so slapped some of that on and it has taken away the glare of swirls - I have been walking around all day kicking my own ass.

I had small (2mm) sized black blobs, dozens of them, on the roof of a car. They were really hard and wouldn't come off with scrubbing and hot soapy water. Using a paint restorer polishing compound I buffed them out, took a bit of effort.

Make sure you throw that mit away!
You shouldn't use a clay mit to wash the car, but only use it to remove bonded contaminants after you've got the car has been thoroughly cleaned.
Clay/mits nearly always leave some degree of marring and ideally the car should be polished afterwards. Any marring will obv. be more evident on darker paint that on light colours or silver.

I collected my car from BMW last week (after it's first MOT) and it was all clean and shiny again. Unfortunately I parked it under one of the lime trees on the street where I park and several days later it was completely and utterly caked in tree sap. Put it this way, the electric tailgate refused to open!

As I park on the street, I can only use a bucket to clean the car (and I'm fresh out of butt water atm) so (after work) I mixed up a strong-ish solution of Carpro Reset shampoo (which is really excellent), sprayed the car with a bottle of bug and tree sap remover that I had kicking about and I got 99% of it off using a noodle mit without too much trouble.

The following day I gave it a second wash and then a wipe down with Bilt-hammer Cleanser-Fluid and that got it proper clean ready to apply then graphene sealant. There were a few bonded bits so ideally it could have done with a clay as well but I didn't have time to polish the whole car afterwards so that can wait until later in the year.

Well I am sure now that it wasn't sap on the car but it's back and it's not nearly as bad as it was - It took me ages to twig it - When we moved in 13 yrs ago a neighbour told me not to park my car next to the house. I haven't done it untill recently with the warm weather -putting it up the side shades it from sun till mid afternoon.
Well now it's back again and the neighbour said if you do and it rains heavy you get particles of sand from concrete tiles bounce off roof. He had problems with it on windows and when you wound them up and down it scratched the windows.

I am sure now because my car has a very good wax on it the sun sofened it and gusty winds we have been having this last week or so has blown grains of sand onto car and they got stuck in polish when car cooled down.

So now got to wait till saturday when we are forcast rain and thunder I can give it another good hot wash.

Golly golly gosh bosh - goodness gracious me or something like that.

Went and cleaned my windscreen up today, it was progressively more covered in tiny little specks. The bush is overgrown in the front garden so I suspect it was some sort of aphid droppings. Tons of them around the car every morning this week. Got to the point I couldn't see in the sun driving home!

I avoided running the wipers as it might scratch something, but actually when it came to cleaning them today... They were stuck down

Thankfully it all seemed to clean off with warm car shampoo. I have noticed since moving to Bedford, a lot of trees have horrible sticky pavements underneath from the sap though.
