hi

im about to purchase a couple of arcade games of xbox live for the first time, i would like to know if there any people can recommend?

i might get sensible soccer?

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is easily the best arcade game on there. Sure beats a lot of the current full priced 360 games too. Try Doom as well.
 
I bought Prince of Persia classic which although mind-boggingly frustrating at times is still good. Carcasonne for a bit of puzzle mania and Track and Field for good old gamepad-bashing-fun for all the family.
 
I've bought (and acquired) a few: My picks would be:

Boom Boom Rocket ~ Fun, addictive sound / rhythmn game
Doom ~ It's err Doom
Catan ~ Good strategic bought game adaption ~ recommended
Texas Hold'um ~ If you like poker (I do)
Uno ~ Just good fun and always a game on Live! (even though I'm seriously rubbish at it; though I should try playing sobre)

I also bought 3D Mini Golf last night. Ok I've mastered the courses in next to no time but it's still fun and something good to play with the mrs

In the next couple of weeks we'll see Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo which I can't wait for and Speedball 2 Deluxe (oh boy oh boy)

As Knives has said though Castlevania: Symphony of the Night seems to be the pick of the bunch (though I've not played it yet). (Wins here: http://xbox.about.com/od/toppicks/tp/topxblagames.htm)
 
Castlevania is the best game on there and a rarity for live arcade as well as it's a retro game which isn't 25 years old!

The other ones i've got which are worth playing are Marble blast, Track and field, Cloning Clyde and Uno.

I wouldn't bother with Hexic 2 though, loved the original one but it's like the developers decided to take everything good out of it and make the sequal an ugly mess :(

Puzzle fighter & Sensible Soccer will be the next 2 decient ones I reckon.
 
Geometry Wars is a must have.

PinballFX is worth a look if you like ProPinball Timeshock and the likes on PC. This is now my most played arcade game.

i think for me the only reason i didn't get it is its worse than the worms games that were released over 8 years ago, so many of the great weapons missing. I'll stick to Worms World Party for my worms fix, the last great worms game.
 
ive got my first xbl arcade game the other day and went for Prince of Persia. Its a great game and the achievements are fairly easy to get too.

Im waiting for Sensible Soccer, which hits 29th August and looks like its going to be great fun! :D
