Not all 'bootlegs' are illegal in music - if we consider a bootleg to be any unofficial release. Many bands consent to taping, and there's a whole scene dedicated to trading - etree.org etc. The good ones don't involve money, the greedy ones do.

Metallica encourage it with their live music, they don't like you bootlegging their studio work.

same with artists promoting the use of there tracks in dj sets etc

but they wont ever allow it on here
