Live Messenger Prob

So I just logged in to one of my account and all the contacts have vanished !

OMG

Anyone else had this problem and how can it be rectified ?

They haven't been minimised at the top of the window have they? There is an arrow at the top of my contact list, clicking on it hides the contacts then clicking it again reveals them again.

If this isn't the case, no idea. Sorry.

No not hidden it says in the middle that i have no-one on my list ?

I'm not sure how WLM stores contacts lists. Is it either on the account PC or on a server somewhere accessed by the user account? I thought it was on a server somewhere so you could sign in on any PC and your contact list would be retrieved for you. It sounds as if something is up with your account, or should I perhaps say down.

You searched the forum for any pasts instances of this?

Seems like i have the same problem as well

, very strange and it keeps resetting my login name for some odd reason...i keep getting a message if i want my contacts to send messages to my mobile device.

Seems like M$ have messed up somewhere..:/

I would imagine the contact list would be stored on a server or some sort, as when i login into messenger at my office, it comes up with my contact list...

Yeah I think it must be. I've signed into Web Messenger at Uni and had my contact list there. Btw I've just saved my contact list onto my PC, just in case.

uninstall and reinstall to newest version. it temporarily stores your addresses on your PC and sometimes this file becomes corrupt.
when uninstalling, if it asks, delete personal settings.

i just had the same problem earlier tonight sometime between 3 and 4am. nearly crapped myself until i signed into webmessenger and found all my contacts again. i think it may have been an msn server burp or somthing
