Hi guys thought id give some phase a try so have a watch if you like

Live cams :D

Edit:

Sorry should have said more im at a lan, in the spare room we've got my rig below, got the core @ -22deg and hitting 215blk booting into windows trying for stable but not quite got it yet, however the phase isnt staying cool enough so think it needs re-gasing maybe?

thanks guys not an overly interesting watch but interesting all the same ;)

If it's at -22c during boot and at idle, then you are right, it isn't anywhere near cold enough. For instance, mine idles at -60c, but under full load goes up to to -54c at 4.3ghz. Pushing further up to 4.8ghz/5.1ghz, load temps then go up to -34c.

As you can see, you will struggle if all you can boot to is -22c.

yer we had it booting @ 4.6ghz but like you say by the time you get into windows its already in pos figures gonna get it regased during the week and try then

never mind :(

I suspect it isn't just a question of a re-gas. It almost certainly needs to be load tested and tuned, as well as re-gased and leak tested.

The absolute minimum load test to put on it, to be able to hold an i7 at say 5ghz, would be about 280w/300w. So some very specialist tuning would need to be done. This would then give you some headroom to go higher, but also a buffer so as not to put the SS under too much strain.

Just about the max i can get from mine is in the screnie below. As you can see, 1.65v was needed. Which is a very large load in wattage terms.

thanks for that thats really interesting

had mine booting at 4.5ghz with only 1.2vcore but didnt load test it as the temps rocketed

its meant to be a 280w chiller i think but ill take to my mate and see whats going on with it.

thanks
