Hey all,

So you may have come across the latest trend to hit the world...

LiveProfile

Basically - it's Blackberry Pin for everyone...

Nonetheless, rumours have generated through the blogosphere and twitter about the possibility of the app being a "virus".

I have read into it, and it seems that LiveProfile put out a press release saying that "LiveProfile has gone viral". Many STUPID MORONS... Ahem... I mean many people have seen this and thought that by Viral, they meant it was a virus...

---

Here's where I get mad...
I logged into Facebook to find about three or four people bragging in this way...

"pfhahaha to all the people that got live profile when 2 days ago I said DON'T get it cause its a scam!!!! dumbasses should listen ;) lol"

So I thought "Game On". :p I proceeded to show them the link to LiveProfiles blog about how it was a misunderstanding, and that it isn't a virus. They reply with "Mark, it was on the news...".

I stopped replying before I went into a full on rant :p

But it did make me think "if it turns out to be a virus, it's going to make me look like a right... tit. :p"

So I just wanted clarification from my buddies at OcUK that I was doing the right thing, and that I should remove these morons from my friend list.

Thanks,

Marky

The twitter feed on their website is amusing. Loads of people seem to think it's some kind of sting operation set-up by the police.

Seriously, society these days is a cesspit.

Couldn't agree more. Using a chat app on a phone I cannot get my head around.!

FFS just use the phone and ring them. :p

What's so hard to not understand? It's a little different to text messages. With messenger apps in general, you can have group chats, send files, chat to other people who are in another country for free (provided you have data allowance or using wifi of course) etc.

Has anyone actually managed to sign up to this on their android device? been trying to create an account to check it out for a good hour now but it just fails, im guessing their signing up servers are overloaded atm.

Sounds like email to me :p

I can't register either. Can't believe how many people have signed up after just 5 days!

Ive managed to register, i pretty much ended up just trying the details i tried to register with when i got the error message and it worked.

Although it seems i cant actually add people which is a tad weird :s not sure if its properly registered me or the servers are packed.

I was looking into this as well... from what i can see theres absolutely no evidence anywhere of this being dodgy or a scam. Just seems to be another example of how thick 90% of people are.

Heh I had a text from a friend this morning asking if this was a virus, I instantly knew they'd be getting confused with virus and viral somewhere along the way :p
