hi all, just wondering if anyone else is having problems with telewest connections in the Liverpool area. My connection turns to carp between say 5-11pm most nights. I've tried using 2 different computers (one with fresh xp install) and so on, no router used. Basically there is a problem, and i've been talking to one or 2 people in CS:S/TFC/CS also suffering from high/unstable pings and low download speeds between the hours mentioned above (again within the L15 area of liverpool). Unfortunately telewest seem to think that there's no problem (after 6 calls now). My last hope is to gather as many locals who have the same problem together and oganize some sort of something lol.

I've been having no end of problem since we signed up to Telewest a couple weeks back. My connection seems to drop out about every 5 - 10mins, meaning any downloads cancel and programs like msn and irc cut out. When I'm playing CS, I get lots of ping spikes, but the main problem is the constant packet loss!

We spoke to Telewest and they said there was a problem in the area and that they were looking into it.. Haven't had any results so far!

well, today might have been the final straw. Currently waiting on a call back from BB support. Naturally they will ring back at 10pm when everything's fine. If that happens I'm going to go mental. Is there anything I can do now to prepare for that?. The only thing I can think of is to log some tracerts and speed measurements. What else can I log other than ping and tracert commands?.

Meh, got a call back (from a local teccy) and essentially the local network isnt big enough to support the surge in usage at peak times, and it will be a few months before it's upgraded. Time to ditch telewest.

People are having similar problems all over the country, and its the same issue telewest are signing as many punters as they can. The networks oversubscribed and cant cope. Im thinking towards cutting my connection from 4mb to 2mb as they simply cannot provide the service. I dont even bother with technical support as its laughable blaming everything on "spyware"

I spent 45mins trying to get through to Telewest yesterday but had to hang up in the end because I had to leave the office.. Didn't manage to get through to anyone to complain.

Looks like we might have to look into changing ISPs if Telewest can't cope with the demand..

Just been having a browse over at adslguide.org.uk and there are countless threads about poor speeds on the Telewest 10meg... Doesn't look good. :(

Here is one for example.. Linky
