Hi, I've used the search function and cant find much in the way of livestreaming, I think it's threadworthy as it's a growing trend, especially with the next gen consoles being eligible to stream direct from the console. Feel free to point me in the direction if there is a decent livestreaming thread!

Anyway, feel free to post about set ups, your favourite live streamers, your own channels etc...

I've recently got into livestreaming and try to stream every day. Stop by and say hello!

I've just started dabbling in the world of live steaming and capturing game footage, still in the process of finding opmitmal settings and so on at the moment and setting up my Twitch channel properly.

At the moment I'm doing this on console only (Xbox 360) using an Elgato Game Capture HD, possibly PS3 at some point if I can be bothered to actually play one of the VERY few games I have on it, I hope to do a lot more in the future once I get my Xbox One.

Also I might do a few PC titles such as DayZ and whatever else I have that'll run without me upgrading.

Stu

There is talk of being able to stream to twitch.tv direct from the next gen consoles, so we should see a HUGE rise in popularity with live streaming.

Setting up the channel is fun, i prefer to use OBS (open broadcast software) over Xsplit as it gives you some really nice options and is not as busy as Xsplit.

How does Twitch make its money? With the Xbone/PS4 coming on-line soon there is bound to be lots more traffic and server/bandwidth costs for them.

Yeah, mostly adverts and from the bigger channels there is an option to subscribe to streamers with over 10k followers (roughly) I believe Twitch gets half of this subscription fee, which is around $2.50 or something...

I saw some news yesterday that take-two and a few other conpanies are investing something like 20 million into Twitch.tv ... I think Streaming will gain a huge rise in popularity.

I think you need something like 4Mbits up to get 720p streaming on Twitch.

Yeah i think it's around that, I have a 2.5MB UP and stream 1900 bitrate at 576p. The magic number, still looks really clean.

It's what the viewer can handle as well which is a shame as im sure not everyone could watch a 1080p stream, as nice as that would be!

give it a bit of time and everyone will be 1080p!

So, What are your thoughts on streaming direct from the next gen consoles?

Ive seen some PS4 stuff and the interface looks clean. Is Xbox fully functional at this point?
