Sometimes you get that feeling of how the hell did a brilliant game like this sneak past under my nose?

Downloaded and played a demo of Demigod over the weekend. This game is brilliant and highly addictive, in some ways reminding me of the godly powers of Populous mixed with fast-paced rts from the game Supreme Commander (both designed by Chris Taylor). Looks like this will get my pennies this week.

Another addictive game that I accidently stumbled across was Battleforge, another rts but free-to-play. You are limited to the set of cards you get free, but you can replay with them to earn boosts or upgrades for them.

Demigod just wasn't expanded upon enough; not many demigods to choose from, the maps are pretty small and pokey or too big and too complex to bother with.

Twice the amount of demigods + classic DoTa map would have been perfic; but it just seemed like from the developers PoV it was a ship and forget title. Which is a shame as the people at Stardock seemed to put a lot of effort into keeping people up to date with the progress of the game.

So multiplayer in Demigods is a big mess (like Dod:MW2)? Shame as I was going to buy this game. I am surprised about small map numbers, normally Gas Powered Games ship modding tools (SupCom = zillions maps & mods).

I'll try and download HoN if it is better.

Unless I'm mistaken Populous was designed by Peter Molyneux, not Chris Taylor.
Thinking of games that slipped under my nose (i.e. didn't play at the time and weren't superfamous 90%+ titles), I was an impressed latecomer to Freespace 2, Vampire: Bloodlines, Command and Conquer: Renegade, and Chaser

I was late to the Defense Grid party. I didn't go a bundle on tower defense games then i played it and that was that i was hooked and i have still got all the new addon maps to play through too.

Sorry yes, me bad - Demigod & Supcom by Chris Taylor and Populous is by Peter Molyneux. Btw, Pete, stop wasting time with politics and get back to making awesome god games you used to do.
