Living in London

Christ that's cheap :( A good session would be 15-20 pints over the course of 6or 8 hours I guess. I've always been a heavy drinker though being a big lad. Last time I went clubbing in london was at the EGG from 10pm till 6am, was circa £3.50 a drink.

Between 45-60 units ? Shinans :p

Most parts of London have markets or small trader shops which tend to sell veg and fruit way cheaper than supermarkets. It's obviously a bit more like how shopping used to be if you choose to use them. I tend to get veg from them, don't really trust the meat though, so get that from supermarkets. As others have said though, supermarket prices really are no different to anywhere else.

Night out in London about £30-50 I guess, depending on if you're going to student night or not, or getting a taxi there and back. Cinema's about £8-12 for a student in London.

Do many students really go around in Taxis for all their nights out though?
Especially when you consider that London has the best late night transport system in the country, as you can easily get Night Buses.

I'm moving to Stratford :D Whats it like there? Do you have MSN/AIM etc so I can ask a few questions bud?

Thanks.

Yeah sure add me: *******

I love stratty, some people hate it, but I've been living here all my life so I'm used to it .

Also it's not southeast London lol :p

Hey guys,

Moving to Londonn in 13 days to start University. I'm currently compling my budget, and I'm pretty stuck when it goes to living costs.

How much do you guys think the following would cost for a student living in SE London:

Groceries
Entertainment (2 nights out a week max)
Gym membership

I have to travel 5 miles to get from where I am staying to where I am studying each day, what are the tube prices like?

Any help would be great, cheers.

You wont be getting the tube.

I live in Stratford. It's a bit of a dive and the people are rude/crazy,

I'm at Stratford often, I'm amazed no one gets killed (or the poo kicked out of them) at the crossing at the Bus Station / opposite the Shopping Centre!

They just walk across the road, dodge cars, everything!

I've seen someone run over there. People in Stratford seem to think it's worth risking their life to save 5 seconds.

Really? I would say £50 minimum for a night out in Brighton so I would expect London to be more.
