Living without Electric.

Didn't have electrical for a good few weeks when doing up my house, plus only a screw tap and cold water for a number of months and I was dandy :) my camping stove died so I bbq'd every day and just cracked on with DIY! In the late afternoon I'd chop back a load of dead wood from the garden (it was a jungle) then load up my burny bin, then when it was dark, plonk down in a chair next to it and read a couple of books wrapped up in a granny blanky :) If it was good enough weather I'd kip outside on a roll up under the stars (less DIY dust kicking around) or sleep on the floor indoors.

I didn't miss tv ... I did wonder what was going on with mates as I emailed a lot but the people I cared about would visit or I'd go see them!

In 6months time Sam and I are going round the world for 16months on motorbikes... We have a tight budget so will be camping everywhere! So no electric as such but we will have solar charges and batteries for various items :)

Easy, we do 1 week, sometimes even two. Of course, I'm assuming you are still allowing batteries. This is when we go camping :) I actually love it. We prioritise the use of netbooks, tablet, headphones, and, the only thing we absolutely charge is a phone in case we need to use it.
