Am i right in saying that if i have another companies kit in my local exchange and i go for them to provide my broadband i can (if they offer it), pay them line rental rather than BT?

A good offering from Sky at the moment ("Unlimited"):
upto 20Mb down, 1.3Mb up.
No data limit.

That costs £10 when taken with their line rental at £11. So that's only just over £20 for everything, right? Sounds alright to me? Unless Sky are a particularly terrible ISP?

I also have Orange and TalkTalk in my local exchange but they seem a little pants for buck banging...what would you go for?

you have to subscribe to sky tv to get broadband from them. just incase you weren't aware of that. i think they're ok on the top package with no limit- they recently screwed over their customers on lower packages by slashing their monthly allowances. :p

i wouldn't touch orange with a bargepole and i'm not really sure about talktalk.

Skys LLU offering is perfectly fine :)

But as marc says you need Sky TV to have their broadband. Also when I joined up with Sky Broadband I had to take BT line rental for 18months so I could have the line for free, No idea if Sky are offering this for free now though.

Well i knew it was too good to be true. Just goes to show i should have read the small print!

*Sky Broadband is exclusive to Sky TV customers.

Thanks guy's, i guess i'll maybe have to get Sky installed :/
