How is maximum connection speed for LLU connections determined and is it fixed once the maximum speed has been determined?

I understand that llu doesn’t rely on bt profiles so am I right in assuming that if I was able to increase my snr ratio then my speed would increase immediately?

You want a LOWER Line Attenuation and a HIGHER snr.

Afaik, Line Attenuation is hugely based on how far from your exchange you are.

Thanks, so if I managed to 'increase' my snr ratio slightly would my connection speed increase immediately or would it take a few days like with a BT profile.

I'm just a bit unsure how they determine maximum speeds on llu as they don't use BTs ip profile.

What happens will depend on the LLUer in particular, but the IP profile only controls your throughput - what you get with LLU will be whatever your modem connects at, less protocol overheads.
The speed your modem connects at is rate adaptive, as it is with BT Wholesale ADSL.
