My stepson has been using my old PC. He said it had started to freeze up then he said he worked OK after I checked a few things. Now it boots up to show wallpaper only and doesn't show desktop icons or systray etc.

He said that a popup box appeared once and it shut itself down too. So I thought he had LSASS.EXE on it. By using task manager I can access the drives, desktop..........and even go on line. I've ran Spybot, Adaware, the up to date antivirus plus a couple of other online ones and even the Feb Microsoft Removal tool, Microsoft Antispyware plus others and everything comes up saying nothing found.

Anyone got any ideas what else I can try? I really don't want to wipe it and start again.

Thanks,

Andy.

I've done a kasperspy online scan and it found 3 different things that nothing else has found. So I downloaded the 30 day trial version of Kasperspy suite and had to restart the PC to finish the install. Now I can't access the program to try and remove what it has found.

Can't see how I can perform a repair or restore, I can't access the menu's etc that I need.

Andy.
