Right mind seem strange but is there any reason why all the Loaves* of bread I buy have ODD number of slices?

I mean c'mon i'm making my buttys for lunch and find I only have 3 slices left :(

Odd yes; but is there a reason?
 
Do you include the crusts in your count? By that, I mean do you have two slices and a crust left? Or three slices and a crust?

Post edited for clarity. Maybe it doesn't matter, but some people don't eat crusts, odd people they're, whereas some do. If he doesn't and he hasn't counted it, he might have a crust which could be used.
 
I Always have 1 Crust on top which I never use, its the piece that can go stale and I wont use. Not that I've ever noticed how many slices are in a Loaf mind you lol.

Dont eat the crusts but still left with one proper slice of bread
 
The European courts decreed that all bread slicers must have an even number of cutters on them nowadays, it's PC gone mad I tell you :rolleyes:
