well yet again my local camera shop is unable to provide me with what i want. of the 3 items i was asking about he doesn't stock any and didn't seem interested one bit about ordering them in or even offering me an alternative.

no wonder these places are slowly dying a death.

Most local camera shops can't stock everything (even the large multiples struggle sometimes) so if there's something I want I ring my local shop first to see if it's in stock & if it isn't & I'm in no desperate rush, they'll order it for me.

The reason they're closing & `dying a death` is because most people buy online, which takes their trade away.
Online/the net is cheaper because they work on smaller profit margins & bulk buying power (+ some foreign sellers evading taxes etc)

Local businesses pay taxes, wages, large overheads etc & simply haven't the money or room to stock everything & can't compete, it isn't a level playing field.

Use it or lose it! Simples.

i know they cant stock everything, i was expecting to have to get it ordered in but he just didnt seem interested in it what so ever. like i said its not the first time, if you dont want what he has in accessories your out of luck for him to order it in.

My local camera shop is Harrison's Cameras in Sheffield and they bloody superb.

They are my first stop for anything I need and I don't mind paying the little bit extra they charge because the service is brilliant and the peace of mind I get by purchasing from them is priceless.
