Local provider laying FTTP am i restricted to only them as an ISP

Forgive my ignorance, but as the title a regional ISP called Wildanet is doing the groundwork and laying the fibre instead of Openreach does that mean i'm tied to them or once the fibre is laid i can choose which ever ISP i wish?

New build I guess? Some developers lock you in to a specific provider for a minimum term.

It may be different in England but here in Scotland when it was installed here the layer of the cable had a 2 year exclusive period.

Naa not new build. I think they are getting paid by the government to roll out more fibre in rural areas such as mine.

@Quartz Ahh if it's the same here i won't be that disapointed except i'll have to leave Zen after 20 years.

Ah, I misread your OP. If you want fibre and OR haven't laid it, you're stuck with Wildanet or whoever they resell via.

Whether ISPs actually take them up on the wholesale option, and whether those ISPs are a better option than using Wildanet as the ISP is a different question.

That's a good thing, not bad. They're rapidly going downhill, both their Plexus network, support, and customer service.
