well most of the wierd weather over the past 3 months is attributable to El Niño which is a giant global weather system that happens once every so many years, what isnt so clear cut is weather or not global warming can exacerbate the El Niño effect, 2007 average temperatures should give us abit of a clue though.

Lol flags up centre of manchesters going down on the floor

Like massive concrete bases and flags above

Trees around my area are all over the place

70mph winds while i was at college

no high vehicles aloud on the m62

Sick

**** me .....i was going to college for an exam when it all started up here. Trying to walk a straight line resulted in some form of an arc to my destination.....my hair was a mess.....my bag decided it wanted to be like a bird and fly away.

Im sure there was a big bang and a very bright bit of lightning.

This weather is not unusual for January...it has been milder than average but only because the sea currents are warmer than normal and therefore providing more moisture into the atmosphere. Again as mention its El Nino at play here...

I heard a window crash during a freak gust today but that's all the damage I've seen...

Anyone remember the Burns' Day storm of January 1990? My school was evacuated after a faux wall collapsed and watched a workmen's hut rolling across the playground...the winds that day where incredible.

February is generally the coldest month on average and we are not out of winter's grasp yet....
