Aerial bent like a croquet hoop!
WTF.. dont know what that is attached to your aerial.. and i am sorry that you need to get it fixed.. but the whole situation of an inflatable dinghy flying through the air.. catching your aerial and doing that is just funny.. :p

Not to mention a silver Focus in the car park was getting pelted with traffic cones before. One of them slammed into the door and left a dent.

Makes me sad how come you didnt grab them?, :( , as for problems here well its windy as hell and unfortunatly it always seems to be windy on damn wheely bin/recycling day so ive been dodging flying wheely bins and recycling boxes on my street and around.

Today a building site close to my work place had a major accident. About 20-30 panels of insulation (with a foil backing) blew from the construction yard into the air. I was right there when it happened and had to pelt away from a particular panel came from above and nearly cracked me on the head when I was outside getting the post.

Unfortunately, this panel blew up into the sky again and hit a estate serviceman on the face which split the panel into 2 parts! I ran towards him and he was OK, and I managed to catch one of the panels and drag it inside.

You could literally look up into the sky and see these things in the air like birds! They were smashing onto cars and roofs - pretty weird sight for Leeds! It wasn't long before the police turned up and closed the entire area off, and shut down the road.

Just heard a funny, yet true, story on the radio... A presenter was driving to work and decided he would try, with his car on max revs, and drive through a flooded part of the road. Unfortunately he didn't manage it and his car filled with water and he had to get the AA out! Anyway, the AA pulled his car out to the side of the road... and a tree fell on the car and split it into two! Bad luck, eh?!

Its pretty amusing up here on the 30th floor - looking at the cranes around hear swaying so much I would wager that there is a pub somewhere in east london full of crane operators....

The wind actually made it hard to work to walk this morning. I was knackered when I got in.

I'm also in Tunbridge Wells, It's pretty bad here. Loads of tree's are down all over the place, there has also been a pretty bad acident in Southborough aparrently.

Well, we're 3 floors up and there was a guy outside placing cones to warn people of the loose roof tiles.

They just kinda escaped from him and went straight for the cars. :(

Was funny when his hard hat kept blowing off though :D

Lol yeah, not my aerial though! It's the house two houses up the road from us.

our wheely bin got blown into the dustwagon as they where emptying it, health and safety says they cant retrieve it as its dangerous, so we are getting a new one @ some point :)

lol abit of the roof has blown off from work, my mate said they sent them home early and it could be shut tomorrow if its windy like is today.

:p

There's the remains of a shops roof lying in the middle of the road half a mile from me. The police have blocked the road off. I drove past earlier on the way to the bank. Whilst I was parked outside the bank waiting for the missus I noticed a couple of holes in a pub's roof facing and slates sliding down. Went past a warehouse type building on the way back, all the roof was peeled back and 2 schools near to me have roof damage too. I opened my car door earlier and the door swung wide open leaving the inner handle and doorcard in my hand. LMAO :D It's not looking too good in manchester

Bloody hell!

My SU bar has just lost its roof and eccles indoor market is now an outdoor market!

Roads closed all over the place and at least one person has died around here!! Crazy!

It's only a storm, no need to blow things out of proportion :o

But seriously it does seem to be quite a bad one, my university is being closed till Monday for safety reasons because the roof might blow off and there are trees blowing over.

Not the best day to be out for sure. Trouble is being a postman, I didn't have a lot of choice. :(

One thing I have learnt from today though... I must stop muttering derogatory remarks while waiting for people to answer the door, even if I am completely drenched and on the verge of being blown back down the street. I will get caught one of these days! :D

Still, I made it back in one piece. Just a shame that can't be said for some other poor souls.
