The title doesnt do this issue much justice,

My missus father phones and asks me to get downgrade from windows 8, which he dislikes to windows 7, job done and everything is fine except for one thing,

The bluetooth, even with toshiba drivers cannot recognise the BT, it worked perfect on windows 8, as he uses a bluetooth speaker for listening to the radio ect...

Now previously on windows 8 there was an icon in the taskbar and also the useful windows 8 bluetooth settings for switching the thing on and off.

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite Pro C50 A-15, a real basic laptop, but perfect for their needs.

Ive used Everest free trial to see if it can recognise the missing driver, but again it fails to find anything.

Im assuming the bluetooth is built into the wifi module, but even with the newest drivers installed its not giving me any bluetooth options.

So...the question is, with myself already spending too much time trying to fix this issue, can anyone recommend what else I can do to exhaust all options?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT

All hardware in device manager is showing installed correctly.

Do you know the model of the wifi/bluetooth module? Googling the laptop model number seems to bring up various versions of it.

Also, what did he not like about Windows 8? If he needed the start menu there's quite a few programs that can bring it back, as well as make the OS feel more like 7. I'm using StartIsBack myself and it works brilliantly, but it costs. There's free alternatives though like Classic Shell.

Here is the official bluetooth stack for that particular latptop, from Toshiba's website.

32bit

64bit

I am guessing you are using the generic drivers from the Windows installation, give these a try next.
