Location aware software for tracking laptops?

At work we deal with all sorts of mobile devices. We've got the ipads and iphones covered from theft as we use the icloud to locate them and we can also remote wipe via icloud as well as our zimbra server.

Where we are completely lost is with laptops.... we give them out to users, we create a ticket in our ticket system as a note of when it was issued and to who, but after that, we have no remote wipe or tracking software.

Anyone have any experience with this or any decent ideas?
