Location, Location, Location!

Just went to renew my car insurance and since I am about to rent my old house out thought I would change to my new address - adds £390 onto the price.

Checked out new quotes and its the same price changes by £400 from old address to new address....

Who knew things could be that different.

Going to try phoning around see if its something I can negotiate on over the telephone...

Think I'd make sure the car "usually" stayed at my old place if it was going to double my premium!

May be worth trying different answers to the "where is the vehicle normally kept overnight" (or equivalent) question - it could be that e.g. storing your vehicle in a locked garage will be of more benefit in your new area.
[Where we live, it makes no difference so don't state it is garaged to avoid any issues if we have claim]
