Location of marker lights & indicators?

After getting a bit trigger happy with the grinder i need to locate some replacement front lights on my SJ.

I've got hold of a couple of caravan indicators (21w) and a pair of reversing lamps (also 21w but i can fit 5w if needed)

I've got 3 locations in mind for each type of light,

Are these locations legal?

Do i need to be able to see with the sidelights? Or are they just to enable other road users to see me? (just thinking about 21w/5w/LED bulb selection)

I think front sidelights are 5W, front/rear repeaters are 21W, side repeaters are 5W, fog is 21W i think brake/rear lights are 21W/5W and I think the reverse are 21W not sure on the last 2 tho.

Need to get some 5w bulbs to replace the 21w in them though. Better than no lights at all!

I "think" that as long as they are symetrical on the vehicle's centreline, you can legally put them almost wherever you want.

Aesthetics are another story though

I think that's ok, I'd be worried about failing on the ends of those chassis rails though, could be seen as a protruding sharp edge. Better stick some duck tape over them.
