Planning a little trip over to Loch Lomond on Saturday, anyone know of any nice pubs or spots to go to? Will just be myself and the girlfriend :)

Assuming I can get there through the snow!

Go up there once a year to Cameron House - if you can afford it take her there for a meal (you will prolly have to book) there is a non-formal restuarant and a suit/tie/dress jobby in the georgian rooms.

There is also a restuarant next to Cameron House called Duck Bay, had a few nice meals there.

cheer mate will have a look into it, we're not staying over anywhere just a day trip but that restaurant sounds ideal (the informal one!)

Luss is always good for a wee trip, it's better in the summer when you can actually use the beach but it's a nice place for a wander around - very twee and picturesque. Mind you it always seems to rain when I go there....

There are some nice places up the east side of the loch, Drymen, Balmaha and the like. They're a bit less touristy than the south/west sides.

I know this much ... if its just you and your girlfriend you could try some outdoor action ;)

As far as i can remember you can only drive around the east side of the loch ( take it very easy on the road .. very dodge ) anyway ... about half way you come to a small village ... don't know the name off hand but its the only large village on the road .

It has a big hotel and a nice littel boozer across the road ;)

Back to the " outdoor action " .. if you carry on out of that village for about 2 mile you come to a small caravan site on the left the rents out ...small boats :D ... For about a tenner you get an hour on the loch and while out on the loch...make out you run out of fule and put it to your GF about getting jiggy ;)

I have done it and it was AWSOME in the wild in the middle of that fantastic loch ... give it a bash
