Got this game installed and finally gave it ago witha joystick, finding it hard to get into as the training missions don't have a voice over just the little text in corner. Anyone know if you can get a voice over on for the training missions so you get chance to see what it's pointing at rather than reading the text?

Cheers

Haven't seen or heard of any voice overs. You can always press "s" to pause game and then read the text.

Otherwise I can recommend Ironman's tutorials which have voice over, and also covers stuff not in the normal training but is more fun and useful ie. carrier landing/air-to-air refuelling (make sure you're patched to the same version as Ironman if you want to play his flights in-game):

Also keep an eye out for recommended mods which spruce the game up, I especially recommend zzzspace's sound packs for more realism. You'll need Loman (mod installer) to implement most mods safely and easily.

I installed this the other week whilst I was debating whether I really needed to buy DCS: Black Shark. I got all the updates for Lock On and then bought DCS:BS as well. Naughty Muttclugg

I keep thinking about reinstalling flaiming cliffs, I miss my 25T in Black Shark, aand they are not planning to redo it for DCS.

Just watched that vid, is that the flaming cliffs addon or mods with that? It looks quite nice compared to mine at the moment lol

Edit: What is the latest version on LOMAN?

Not sure if that was flaming cliffs specifically as it looked very similar to just base LOMAC. I can say that he was running a runway mod and a cockpit lines mod.

Plus flying the Mirage is a mod too I believe (I don't recall that being directly flyable in FC either).

There's all sorts of mods available, you just have to find ones which are compatible with the version of LOMAC you are running. Anything from sound packs, modded aircraft to fly, textures, airfield surfaces, aircraft skins, missions etc.

I'm quite out of the picture with LOMAC now, but reading around apparently Loman has been updated/renamed to Modman. Latest version I can find yet is Modman 7.1.0.8 from HERE

Go here for lots and lots of mods http://www.lockonfiles.com/

Also check out the Excellent ADA mod for converting your Mig-29 iinto a Mirage.
