Hey guys so in need of some help I bought a new TV which is natively able to support 120hz @ 1080p and 60hz @ 4k. The weird issue is this : If I turn Vsync on at 1080p it locks my frames to around 90FPS and looks super choppy, like its running at 25fps or worse, if i disable Vsync it plays at the 60 FPS+ but the screen tearing is unbearable (not being snobby here but its like looking at 2 different displays on one its that bad) now it i run at 4k i get the same problem, with Vsync on i get 50FPS and with Vsync off i get 60+ with that really bad screen tearing (looks worse in 4k) The monitor refresh rate is 60 & 120hz respective to their resolution
turning windows game mode off seemed to have "fixed" the 1080p issue in SOME games but not all, so some will run at 120fps with Vsync on but not all. also enabling HDR seems to do some strange things too, like causing the mouse to lag and having noticeable lag else where too(unsure if this is related) Im running an 8700k and a 1080Ti so its not a bottleneck in performance. To further add to the complication, i tried plugging my laptop into the TV which is only a 1060 and 7700k, this had NON of these issues and just worked at the correct FPS with Vsync on and off
