I am glad he has been released, because his conviction was never convincing in the first place, it shows that British justice can be merciful and it shows that Britain doesn't always bow to American pressure.
 
Now he's been released he should atleast publicly announce his 'views' with regards to his conviction...

That's right.

I am not arguing, I'm right, he's wrong. If you agree the guy is guilty then so are you.

He was convicted by three Judges without a jury and the findings were never made public, just the conviction. The evidence would not bear scrutiny in a million years.

It's moronic. But people who can't seperate the issues and accept he is just a patsy are more moronic IMHO.

I'd be grateful for an explanation of what you mean by 'my watered down crap.'

The Lockerbie victims and their families deserve justice and to know the truth, and al-Megrahi deserves to have his name cleared.

Way to miss my point. I'm saying if you were to base showing him compassion on whether or not he committed the crime, and were unable to say for sure if he had or hadn't then you should show him it anyway on the basis that in 3 months time he'll be dead regardless of your decision.

By all means investigate the possibility, just don't let it delay sending him home.
 
Officially he did it and I'm sure no one involved in the decision to sent him free knows the 'truth' either so conspiracy theories aside... He didn't offer his victims any compassion to let them die peacefully with their families, so I don't see why we should let him do that either. Life should mean life. We're too soft.

You are completely missing the point.

He did not receive a fair trial, so you have no right to then go on and accuse him of being guilty have you? You have no idea whether he had any part at all in the incident. I very much doubt any of us will ever know what actually happened, I expect it's been classified on the grounds of National Security or some such :rolleyes:
