It's with sheer shock and disbelief that I write to you now to inform you that on the back of a packet of Lockets it says the following:

"Use: To relieve symptoms of blocked noses and sore throats. Directions: Dissolve one in mouth as needed. Dosage: In any 24 hours do not exceed: Adults & children over 12: 3 packs; children 7-12: 2 packs; children 3-6: 1 pack. Overdone of menthol may cause sever stomach upset, being sick, giddiness, shaking, and drowsiness."

And there’s some more information on the back aswell about possible side effects if you're pregnant but I'm not pregnant so I don’t have to worry about that one (but that’s another thread entirely). But what I am worried about is that I never knew this information was on the back of a packet of lockets before! It's like a packet of lockets is like medicine that you get from the doctors with instructions! It's crazy.

I wonder if anyone has ever died from eating too many packets of lockets?

There's been times when I've eaten like 5 packets in one day! They should sell them behind the counter at a chemist instead of in front of the counter; I always presumed they were sweets!

Don't hotlink.

5 packets? Are you mental?

Even at my worst cold i couldn't manage more than half a packet before i get belly aches, then i have to stop

Erm what...

Loads of drugs that don't need prescriptions have those sort of warnings on the back....

This is almost as retarded as someone wanting to sue snickers because they might die of a nut allergy if they eat it and haven't read the packet.

wait what? i thought paracetamol were flavourless mints ive been eating a few packs a day washed down with those really thick cherry flavored honey drinks.

come to think of it ive been feeling droswy for years now maybe i should sue

Hey, I always shove huge amounts of medicine down my neck without bothering to read the dosage instructions and warnings very clearly printed on them. Who doesn't?

Oh yes. Anyone with any sense doesn't.

Lockets are nowhere near dangerous enough for it to be reasonable to put them on prescription only.

Might have died...did you even have any of the relatively minor effects of overdosing?
