hey guys,

have used machines on a network domain before and to keylock them you hit ctrl+alt+delete and hit lock workstartion.. your desktop screen is visible in the background with a little message saying..."this terminal is locked"

Is there any way of doing this same locking procedure within XP and without being connected to a domain? I am running three machines on my LAN and wanted to know if I could lock a machine and have the desktop image display.

Its not urgent but just a thought!

I know if i press windows+L it will log me off but it brings up the windows splash screen with a logon prompt

Any ideas?

Cheers

2 things. goto control panel>user accounts>change the way users logon and off and turn off the welcome screen.

next goto start, run

control userpasswords2

goto the advanced tab and tick the box "users must use ctrl-alt-del".... :)
