Locking apps

Is there a way to lock apps so they cannot be opened or moved or accidentally deleted as I let my son use the ipad he's 3 years old and is severely autistic

And before anyone would like to flame me about letting a 3 year old use an ipad I find the ipad is an excellent learning tool for young children especially with asd

I let my 3 year old use my iphone, he likes watching his favorite kids tv shows on Youtube and plays games on it. I switch on 'Guided Access' to lock him into an app so he can't come out of it abd fiddle with anything else. Tried that?

I don't believe there is a way to prevent opening/moving certain apps without being jailbroken, but you can prevent deletion etc - go to Settings > General > Restrictions. Turn on, and turn off 'deleting apps'.

You've probably already seen, but guided access can be a godsend when trying to prevent accidental opening of apps/pressing of buttons etc.
