locking icons

hi is there a way i can lock down icons on the desktop so they cant be deleted in any way thanks....the operating system is win7 thanks

Hmm...right click on the shortcut, in properties go to security. Should be able to control group policy for the icon there so you can stop users from modifying or deleting the icon

its for my sons pc he is 4 and keeps deleting the icons and have to go put them back again 10mins later does the same he is only 4 though lol

yeah! give him a pair of fingerless gloves, works a charm.

Edit: just found out it doesn't work on win 7...........have a google there may be other apps that can do the same thing
