Locking keyboard without affecting screen?

I've a got a PC linked to 2 screens to be used as a monitoring station, so I want the keyboard locked so that no-one can type anything - but still see the desktop unobstructed - just like a transparent screensaver I guess. So if someone touched a key it would pop up a password box. Does anyone know if Windows can do this on it's own or if there is anything I can install to do it?

Erm, you could make your desktop look nice, use the Print Scrn button, paste that into paint or something. Save that and use the image as a screen saver...with the option to lock the PC enabled?

If you have XP, you could use the "My Pictures..." screensaver if it's on your PC with the image in a folder and disabled transitions.

If anyone has the beta of Visual studio express 2005 there's a template for a screensaver in that. It should be pretty trivial to make that an invisible or minimised window so the desktop is visible. I'd do it myself but I have the full version of 2003 so installing the new beta would screw around with the settings.
