Hi guys,

I am trying to set up the function on xp that after say 5 minutes of inactivity, the session would time out and the password to be entered. However, I can't find this option anywhere. Tried local security settings in which I found the account lockout features but these don't help as the session doesn't time out in the first place.

Kind Regards

simply set the screen saver to kick in after 5 minutes and enable its password function.

i.e. tick the box that says "on resume, password protect"

strangely enough, that option is not showing on my pc. It does exist in other workstations but for this specific one. I don't have that option. How do I enable it etc?

oh, i see :)

go to control panel... user accounts... click on your user account... click add password

click ok and reboot, next time you boot youl be greeted by a log in screen askling for your password and youl also have the password function enabled on the screen saver
you can also lock your workstation by pressing the windows key plus the L key at the same time.
