We currently have a lodger living with us. Unfortunately her mother has died. At the same time my mother has gone on holiday.

Now here is the problem. She has left a rather large funeral wreath on the front lawn. Its been there nearly a week. Now I’m convinced that the neighbours think my mother has died as they haven't seen her in a while. What do people think I should do I haven't called my mum as I don't want to ruin her holiday nor have a spoke to the lodger as she’s away at a wedding. I don't want to just move it encase I upset her. Any ideas?

I am sure she wouldnt mind you moving it if she has gone away. Just put it to the side.

Or if you want to be mean say the bin men took it. Or blame those pesky kids that are always doing bad things. :p

Have you got a shed or a garage to stick the thing in until a time arises that you can speak with her about it?

Out of sigh out of mind

The problem is I’m unsure when she gets back I don't want her to come back and think its been vandalised as I work all day.

Has anybody else ever heard of someone putting it on the front lawn anyway? It’s a new one to me.

What does it matter what the neighbours think?

If they ask say it's your lodger who has lost her mother and yours is on holiday.

So your lodgers mum has died, her daughter has left flowers on your garden then gone to a wedding? Seems a bit strange as its not her garden.

Id just move them into your lodgers bedroom. If she says anything say that people may start thinking your mum had died as its your house

Usually I'd agree but them thinking shes dead I personally think is abit diffrent. They all keep looking at me in a werid way.

I think im just going to move at leave it in the hall so she can see it when she walks in then explain when I get home from work.
