Right,

The house he bought in November has a loft conversion, but it's rubbish; the shower room is tiny and if you were to drop the soap there is no way you could pick it up again without opening the door with your bum.

There is no dormer to if you are taller than me then only the central section is usable and the insulation is poor, meaning it's a sauna on days like today.

I want to rip it up and start again.

My main question is about building regs; it as converted some time ago and the staircase up there isn't enclosed and doesn't have a fire door on the bottom end. Am I going to have to meet regs here if I have any work done?

Some mates had their loft converted a couple of years ago and didn't enclose the stair because they had fireproof boards put down on the stairs, landing and hall. Anyone got any experience of this?

Cheers.
