Loft Ladder Hack

Trying to add a folding or telescopic loft ladder to a hatch sideways… as it’s orientated 90 degrees with the landing and can’t fit it length ways in line with hatch as landing is too narrow. Plus the clearance above is 55cm so limited options there too.
All ladders I find need 600mm, I have 520mm. So any hacks to get something like this to fit in?
I’d rather not chop and change the hatch so any suggestions please

Cut 70mm off the feet and put the end caps back on?

Looking at your instructions both the 2.6 and 2.9 need the need the same opening and the image to the right seems to be the ladder fully collapsed. Seems enough room to lop 70mm off before the first rung

can you actually remove lowest section without disrupting whatever the step locking mechanism is and just add it once ladder is down
maybe adding a pin/bolt perpendicular to tubing to lock it.

Thanks, so obvious! Looks like it will work, I’ll try this or the other suggestion of removing a section.
