I'm trying to build a log cabin. I have only erected about 5 logs high but in my mad panic I forgot to check the diagonals measuring from corner to corner. I'm out one diagonal measures 4.43 and the other is 4.38 the floor boards still fit. Do I have a problem or will I have to start again.

It's not a huge difference in measurements (about 1%) so i doubt it'll cause any issues.

I would probably redo it though if the logs already laid are not permanently fixed. It probably wont cause any structural issues and nobody else will notice, but you'll always see the mistake so may as well sort it now whilst it's not much effort to fix.

pics would help, depends on if it will bother you with it being not square, as above if the logs are not fitted permanently yet then why not start again

Having built one recently, i would get it right
You should be able to bang in square with that many built, in fact i think when I did mine it suggested to get to about that height first anyway as they move around a bit as you are inserting logs until about that height

I'd certainly have a go at getting it right now that you've noticed it. To progress knowing things aren't right and are fixable at this stage just wouldn't enter my head.

I know nothing about log cabin construction but I know hammers, lol. If knocking it square as others have suggested doesn't work maybe try a ratchet strap on the longest diagonal. That might pull it to shape.

As mentioned above, you should be able to knock that sqaure at 5 high, recently built a dunster house cabin and banished my wife to it, i mean she works in it lol :D
