Hello,

Before i reinstalled windows it used to login smoothly but now There is a slight pause of a black screen. (With the login sound)

Here is a video so you understand better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdiT75B0kgU @ 0:17

is there a way to make it login smoothly instead of a abrupt black screen?

Thanks

Could possibly be related to the graphics card software initialising perhaps. I'd try disabling any of the programs related to the graphics card and see if that helps or not.

I uninstalled my drivers and it logged in nice and smooth, As long as it isn't anything BIOS or SSD related then I'm happy :)

Thanks

Slow 'Welcome' into desktop times are usually caused by stuff that runs when you log in. Tray icons and third party tools etc. 'Autoruns' will let you see what runs when you log in.

- HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
- ..\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Are the common sections to look at.

Windows Update patches and device drivers can also cause this as they change files that were in your boot profile. If you're running a traditional HD (not SSD) then running this at an admin command prompt will rebuild your boot profile.

defrag c: -boot
