Will the basic MacBook Pro run Logic Studio and Sibelius 7 well?

By the way, I know lots of people say do the RAM upgrade yourself. How do I do this? Is it a lot cheaper?

A LOT cheaper, just buy it on the internet (crucial for example) and unscrew the bottom of the MBP, remove the RAM currently installed and put the new sticks in. Costs like £40-45. It's what I did to mine.

Nope, only have 1280x800 res which is the only downfall to the 13" model

and a slower cpu, can't upgrade the RAM past 4gb and limited storage options

Careful with Sib7 - it's bloody useless. Never known such a flaky release of Sib ever, and I've had it since v1!

By the sounds of that then I will leave it, I currently have Sibelius 5.

I can't wait to get my MacBook Pro.

The only Apple product I have is the 120GB iPod Classic.
